Use of big data in safety

W hat is big data?  Big data is a general term for e xtremely large data sets that may be analysed computationally to reveal patterns, trends, and associations, especially relating to human behaviour and interactions. It means a lot of information on data that is difficult to handle manually.  What is its relevance in safety? Every company in the world has been improving in the front of safety. This involved many companies developing their own safety management systems and getting certified for OHSAS 18001 and the likes. Since the companies have implemented their safety management systems they have huge quantities of safety data available with them.
